So, another day of my lipstick challenge and the chosen one for today is ‘Girl About Town’ from MAC. It’s another one from the Amplified Creme collection, which I’m sure you all know already that I adore, they’re my favourite finish from MAC. ‘Girl About Town’ is a stunning, super bright pink with a purple-ish undertone, which I think makes it flattering for all skintones, it’s the ultimate Barbie pink, I think that’s why I love it so much!
I was feeling very pink today and I thought I’d match my outfit to my lippie, and I just had to share my Barbie dress and pink brogues with you!
What do you guys think, are you Girls About Town? 🙂
Love & Lipstick,
I know, I know, I was a bad blogger yesterday and missed my lipstick challenge post so ill make up for it today with two of my favourites 🙂
First up is a lip crayon from a company that I’m not sure you’ll have heard of, I don’t really see much about them in other blogs and stuff. They’re called Helen-E Cosmetics and the lip crayons are really the only thing I’ve used from them, they’re actually really lovely.
So, this one is called ‘Pomegranate’ and its a gorgeous, deep berry shade, perfect for the coming A/W! I love dark shades like this so this one is kind of a staple in my collection. I like to wear them with minimal eye make up, sometimes must mascara to really draw attention to the lips. For a crayon, these are actually just as long lasting as a lipstick and the colour payoff is great. They’re really moisturising as well, and they retail at something like £5 or £6 so that’s a bonus too! Check out the swatch below 🙂
And my lipstick for today is from MAC, it’s called ‘Pervette’ and its a lovely, shimmery lilac 🙂
You all know the score with my opinion on MAC lipsticks, i adore them, so I don’t think I need to say much more really, I just hope you like it as much as I do! 🙂
Love & Lipstick,
So, since I moved my blog to WordPress, I’ve been wanting to improve my posts and there’ve been loads of ideas flying about my head about things I want to do! So I’m going to start with the one I’ve been thinking of for the longest, reviewing a new lipstick every day for a month! 🙂
I’m sure you’ve all figured out by now that I’m a super make up junkie and lipstick is the one product I just can’t be without, everything looks better when you throw on a bit of lippie!
“Beauty is about being confident in your own skin. Either that or a kick ass red lipstick!” – Gwyneth Paltrow.
So, day 1 is a good old faithful MAC, and is one of my favourite colours EVER! It’s called ‘Up the Amp’, and comes from the amplified cremes collection (which are my personal favourites, I prefer them to the satins, mattes etc). It’s a stunning, bright electric lilac-y purple and is so much more flattering than it sounds. Check it out..
It’s pretty, right? 🙂
I absolutely love the amplified cremes, purely because I love a good old bright lip and I think these are so much more pigmented than some of the other finishes and they have an amazingly smooth, creamy texture as well as unbelievable staying power. I wore this to tenants vital festival a few weeks ago watching Kings of Leon in the pouring rain and it stayed put so I really can’t complain! 🙂
Let me know what you think of the colour and what your lipstick of the day is!
Ahh so, I went make up shopping, again.. (sigh). Genuinely starting to think I might literally have an addiction to make up, I can almost hear rehab calling for me!
But anyway, I came back with one of my favourite items EVER, the La Mer translucent face powder (eek!). I absolutely love this, it is expensive, I think it retails at like £55, but it is worth every single penny! It’s super fine, doesn’t clump, gives a flawless finish and lasts FOREVER.
As you can see from the picture, I came back with a few more lipsticks that I didn’t need but sure, you can never have too many and I’ve been eyeing up these colours for a while now 🙂
The 2 MAC ones are the MAC Red and Pervette. MAC Red is obviously what it says on the tin, but Pervette is a little different, it’s a sheer lilac-y pink shimmer, which is actually a lot nicer on than it probably sounds lol.
The Estée Lauder ones, I love, their pure colour vivid shine lipsticks are some of the best lippies I’ve ever tried. The texture is smooth and creamy, the colour payoff is amazing and the staying power is great, what more could you want?! 🙂 I bought Pink Riot, which is a bright rosy pink and Violet Electra which is a stunnnnning vibrant purple.
Swatches are below, let me know what you think! 🙂
